Returns & Refunds Policy

At Bagaan Chai Co., we take great care to describe our teas accurately and ship every order in good condition. Because tea is a consumable food product, our return and refund policy is designed to protect product quality, customer safety, and the integrity of our small farmer-to-consumer business.

1. Opened or Consumed Tea Is Final Sale
All tea products are final sale once opened, used, brewed, consumed, or otherwise altered from their original condition.
We do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds for tea that has been opened or consumed because the product can no longer be inspected, resold, or verified in its original condition.
Taste preference, brewing method, aroma perception, strength, flavor expectation, or personal preference after opening or consuming the tea does not make the product eligible for refund.
2. Eligible Returns
A return may be considered only if all of the following conditions are met:
- The return request is submitted within 7 calendar days of delivery.
- The product is unopened, unused, untampered with, and in the same condition received.
- The product is returned in its original packaging, including tin, seal, label, and any included packaging materials.
- The customer provides valid proof of purchase from bagaanchai.com.
- The return is approved by Bagaan Chai Co. before the product is shipped back.
Products returned without prior written approval may not be accepted or refunded.
3. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at:

Please include the following:
- Your order number
- Clear photos of the outer shipping package
- Clear photos of the product, seal, label, and any visible damage
- A brief description of the issue
If we confirm that the product was damaged in transit, defective, or incorrectly fulfilled, we may offer a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion.
4. Product Descriptions and Customer Expectations
We make every reasonable effort to describe our teas accurately, including origin, tea type, approximate serving quantity, flavor profile, and suggested brewing method.
Individual taste experience may vary depending on water quality, brewing time, quantity used, milk, spices, sweetener, and preparation method.
A claim that the product is "not as specified" must be supported by clear evidence that the item received materially differs from the product ordered. Personal preference after opening or consuming the tea does not qualify for a refund.
5. Return Shipping
Unless the return is due to our confirmed error, damaged shipment, or incorrect product, the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
We recommend using a trackable shipping service. Bagaan Chai Co. is not responsible for lost, delayed, or damaged return shipments.
6. Refund Process
Once an approved return is received, we will inspect the product.
If the return is approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method, excluding original shipping charges where applicable.
Refunds may take 5–10 business days to appear depending on the payment provider or financial institution.
7. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return or refund:
- Opened tea products
- Consumed or partially consumed tea products
- Products without original packaging or seal
- Products damaged after delivery
- Gift cards, promotional items, or free samples
- Final sale or discounted items, unless required by law
- Products purchased from third-party retailers, events, or marketplaces unless otherwise stated
8. Refused Deliveries and Unauthorized Returns
Orders refused at delivery or returned without prior approval may not be eligible for refund.
If an unauthorized return is received and does not meet our policy requirements, Bagaan Chai Co. may deny the refund. The customer may be responsible for any additional shipping costs if they want the product returned to them.
9. Policy Abuse
We reserve the right to refuse refunds, returns, exchanges, or future orders where we reasonably believe there is misuse, repeated refund abuse, fraud, or bad-faith claims.
